| Bought this doll for my 6 yr old daughter this passed Christmas as well as one change of clothes. She has enjoyed this doll...her hair is springed up curls (just like my little girl's) and she is just beautifully made. Cost about $35 but now is priceless...she is part of my little one's Baby Doll Family. :) |

| I can't stress enough how beautiful this doll is... and her hair is just flat out gorgeous! It took her a day, but my DD has really taken to her... gives her kisses and hugs... WAY more kisses and hugs than her other AA doll (that has lighter skin and straight hair). The age range for the doll is 5+, my DD is only 2... So I watch her closely when playing with "Cecile". |

| I loved the look of the doll... My daughter's 5th birthday was fast approaching and the Corel dolls seemed perfect for her age group. I had been searching for a doll that was age appropriate for my soon to be 5 year old, and was flaberghasted with what I saw... Most of the dolls I came across were dressed like street walkers (Ugh)! Or the African American dolls all looked the same-straight hair. I wanted a tad bit more diversity. I was searching for something that looked a little more like my daughter. So to my delight I stumbled across the Corel dolls (Cecile to be exact). The body resembles that of a little girl-again "we" loved it. I loved the styling of the hair (looked just like my daughter). She was tickled when she opened the box. My only complaint is that there isn't much you can do to the hair. Unfortuantely combing the dolls hair makes it unmanagable-and for a 5 year old not much fun. We really love the look of this doll... I hope they consider making another African American doll that you can comb the hair...I would buy her immediately!!!! |

I LOVE Cecile! She is a gorgeous black doll, with beutiful brown skin and natural black hair styled in lovely ringlets all around her head. I found Cecile after searching for several months for a doll that would reinforce my young daughter's love of her identity. We have always taught her that everything about her was beautiful-right down to the tips of her naturally kinky/curly hair. Most of the other black dolls on the market were either to grown up for her (i.e., Barbie, Bratz) or they all had very straight hair(which is not something I want my daughter eventually trying to or feeling as if she has to emulate). Corolle hit the mark right on with Cecile and, shortly before Christmas, I found her for a stellar price right here on Amazon!
Cecile was a hit on Christmas morning! She came dressed in the lovely ensemble you see on this page and smelled wonderfully of vanilla. (My daughter is a budding fashion lover, so I know we will soon be buying a few of the other clothing items avilable for the Les Cheries dolls from Corolle and other retailers for Cecile pretty soon). My daughter has played with Cecile almost nonstop since Christmas! She takes her everywhere we go and talks to and interacts with her all day. She changes Cecile's clothes every evening for bed (we made her a bed with pillows and a basket)and dresses her every morning. At my daughter's truly concerned request, we even bought her a toy car seat so that she will stay buckled up during car trips! I also love the fact that my daughter constantly comments on how BROWN and PRETTY Cecile is.
My ONLY complaint is that the Cecile's hair has been very difficult to maintain. Unlike the other Les Cheries dolls, Cecile's hair does not seem to be made for styling. It has not been possible to comb her hair and have it return to it's original pretty curl. In fact, her hair is so unmanageable, it has begun to mat and frizz just from regular handling. We have not tried to comb it again since the initial attempt, so there seems to be no good reason for it to behave this away except for a bad choice of hair fiber or something to that effect. I have not been able to contact anyone at Corolle to find out if they will repair it. So, I think I will eventually have to buy another Cecile in order to have a fresh head of hair.
Overall, Cecile has been a delight. She is a lovely and modestly dressed doll, made just for sparking a young girl's imagination and instilling a feeling of pride (for black girls) in having a doll that looks just like her! |

| The Corolle Les Cheries Doll- Cecile is a beautiful doll. I appreciate the diversity that Corolle is committed to and their dolls are high quality. My daughter has baby dolls from the Tidoo line and I look forward to continuing to buy her Corrolle dolls. |
